FLEXIZYME at GREENCHEMCO 2025: Showcasing Innovation in Sustainable Chemistry
From June 16–18, 2025, the historic city of Pisa, Italy, hosted the 3rd Conference on Green Chemistry and Sustainable Coatings – GREENCHEMCO 2025, bringing together experts across disciplines to explore the latest innovations in renewable resources, sustainable materials, biodegradability, and ethical applications of green chemistry.
FLEXIZYME was proudly represented with both an oral and a poster presentation, contributing to the ongoing dialogue on sustainable chemical solutions.
Domenico Licursi from the University of Pisa gave an oral presentation titled: “FLEXIZYME – A Sustainable Biotechnological Platform for Fatty Amine Production”, introducing the project’s mission to replace fossil-based chemical synthesis with enzyme-driven processes using agro-food residues. His talk highlighted FLEXIZYME’s integrated approach to enzyme engineering, process optimization, and bio-based product development, paving the way for greener applications in cosmetics, detergents, and agriculture.
In addition, Mar Tronch from ITENE presented a poster outlining FLEXIZYME’s focus on sustainable process design, feedstock valorisation, and its alignment with circular economy principles.
The GREENCHEMCO 2025 conference provided a valuable platform for FLEXIZYME to engage with researchers and industry players working on:
