This June, FLEXIZYME proudly marks its 1-year anniversary!
Launched in June 2023 and funded by CBE JU, FLEXIZYME is a 48-month project focused on building a sustainable, scalable biotechnological platform for the production of bio-based primary fatty amines (FAs) from fat-rich and protein-rich residues.
In just 12 months, our 17-member consortium has laid the foundation for this ambitious effort:
- 🧪 Identifying and characterizing promising enzymes
- 🔬 Advancing process design and bioinformatics tools
- 🌍 Promoting circular economy principles through feedstock valorization
To mark this important milestone, the partners will meet in person in Athens, Greece, to share progress, align on next steps, and reinforce our shared commitment to redefining fatty amine production.
