Construction of a FLEXIble and adaptable enZYMatic biotechnological platform for sustainablE industrial production of bio-based fatty amines from side stream materials
LEARN MOREIn a nutshell
FLEXIZYME is a 4-year project, structured into 9 work packages. It will consider all the development steps to obtain biobased FAs from fat rich and protein-rich feedstocks to fit real industrial needs. FLEXIZYME has a well-balanced consortium covering all the value chain from residue valorisation to end-users. Within the project, the aim is to develop a flexible, cost-efficient biotechnological platform where innovative technologies concerning the catalyst and process design will be implemented.
To achieve the project’s objectives, the FLEXIZYME consortium has successfully brought together expertise from different disciplines. By adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the project will comprehensively address the technical, environmental, economic, and social aspects involved in the industrial production of bio-based FAs.
